Make your own herbal healing Tea

Herbal Healing Tea – Herbal Tincture – for sinus and chest infections, sore throats & coughs.

Recipe for The Herbal Healing Mama’s All Natural Herbal Healing Tea. ~ Great for sinus and chest infections, sore throats & coughs.

My hubby had been feeling very ill with bronchitis and so I wanted to try and help alleviate some of the suffering for him. This herbal tea has many healing properties, plus it was made with love, so it was extra effective! ^_^

What you will need:

  • Thyme
  • Lemon
  • Ginger

(or lemon ginger tea)

  • Echinacea Tincture
  • Honey

I’ll go over the ingredients & why they were used.

Thyme: I used the dried herb
Thyme has antiseptic qualities that is used to treat respiratory ailments,  It helps rid the body of mucus, strengthens the lungs to fight off infection, and acts as a shield against bacteria.

Thyme is effective for soothing sore throat and lungs, coughs, bronchitis, emphysema, and asthma.

Lemon: I used natural lemon as well as a Lemon Ginger tea bag by Our Finest.

It’s also packed full of goodness, such as: Orange Peel, Lemongrass, Chamomile, Ginger root, Licorice root, and then of course, some additional flavoring.

Lemon helps rid the respiratory system of bacteria and mucus.

Ginger: I unfortunately didn’t have any real ginger at the time so I had to supplement with what was in the Lemon Ginger tea.

Ginger has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that helps kill bacteria and reduce any swelling in the sinuses or the bronchial tubes.

Echinacea Tincture: I used Be Better brand.

Echinacea is widely used to fight cold symptoms, upper respiratory infections & sore throats.

Honey: I used our local Billy Bee brand.  Honey has antiseptic and antibacterial properties plus it makes the tincture taste much better and less bitter.

It actually tasted delicious.

I used a tea ball for the thyme, but if you don’t have one you can always strain out the herbs before drinking. I am lucky enough to have found a tea-pot that has a tea strainer right in the top of it. That comes in handy for allowing the herbs to continue to steep after you pour into the tea-pot.
I put a pot of water on the stove, depending on how much you are making, will determine the amount of water needed. I filled the tea-pot and dumped it into the pan.
Thyme is very potent and so only about a teaspoon or two is needed for a full pot of tea.
I threw in the Lemon Ginger tea bag as well as about 4 spoon fulls of honey and then about 30 drops of the Echinacea tincture.  Let the mixture brew for at least 30 minutes.
Serve & Enjoy!

Please note: my information is not to be used in place of a medical practitioner. If you are seriously ill, I recommend seeing your physician.  I simply want to help heal any way that I can.
