Essential Oil Safety Information (AIA Injury Reports)

Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy has a 2 part series called: Top 10 Worst Injuries from Essential Oils of 2014

This is an ongoing study they are working on.

I think these are important to read as sooo many people are misinformed about essential oil safety, or worse, they are given poor advice without doing their own research. I’m not pointing fingers and saying people are deliberately giving bad advice, everyone makes mistakes BUT using essential oils undiluted or unsafely can cause serious and permanent damage.

Damage can include rash, hives, scarring, health problems, breathing difficulty, heart palpitations, seizures, and worse.

PLEASE always do your own research. I am continuously reminding readers to please read my disclaimer and do their own research before trying anything. To test things in small quantities, and to always be careful. Just because something works wonders for one person doesn’t mean the next person won’t have a reaction.

Some of these posts on PART 1 & PART 2 are seriously scary. Please read. Don’t accidentally make the same mistakes.

There are 2 very scary incidences on their list with very small children. Please be aware of all precautions before using oils on anyone of any age, but especially young children. Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy are even kind enough to offer a free safety sheet download. (You have to add it to your cart and check out like you would if you were making a purchase)

This fact sheet focuses on the safety issues concerning the use of aromatherapy with childbirth and child care, as practiced by various healthcare professionals.

Read more about this ongoing project to spread information on safety and the costs of misuse.

Education is the key to safety.

Happy & Safe Healing Friends. ❤
