We shared a post a while back for creating room fresheners naturally, there’s other ideas and scents over on that post, but I wanted to share my go-to mixture when it comes to stovetop potpourri.
It’s super quick and easy and it smells like orange creamsicle is wafting through your house.
It’s also helpful to add some humidity to the house on a dry winter day. It’s all around warm and cozy.
What I used this go around;
- One orange peel
- One clementine sliced
- About 3tbsp of pure vanilla extract. (You could also add in some vanilla beans for extra scent.)
- 6 or so drops of orange essential oil.
- Enough water to cover the oranges.
Combine ingredients in an old pan on the stove. (I keep a pan just for this purpose) Simmer on low, & enjoy the delicious fragrance.
We also shared an apple cinnamon one here as well as some other ideas. Everyone’s scent preferences are different, so play around with ingredients until you find something you love.
